The climate in Pompeii is the typical Mediterranean climate characterized by hot, dry summers and mild, wet winters. The average temperatures in Pompeii all year round is about 10-20 degrees Celsius. The autumn month of November is the rainy season while summers are mostly dry. Summers in Pompeii can be very hot with temperatures above 30 degrees Celsius especially at noon with the scorching sun. The breeze from the Mediterranean Sea, helps keep the city cooler but it is still better to avoid staying outdoors during midday. The lovely weather makes it a popular place for visitors throughout the year.
